According to the elders of Kailolo Village, the protection of the momoa bird (the Mollucan Scrubfowl/ Eulipoa wallacei) with the sasi custom originated from a legend that has been rooted for generations in the community.
The people of Kailolo still adhere sasi custom for the Mollucan Scrubfowl (Eulipoa wallacei), which is locally known as momoa bird. Only a designated person can harvest the eggs.
The black sand beach in Simau Village in Galela Sub-district, which is located at Halmahera Island in North Maluku Province, has a beautiful view. Besides being surrounded by sea water on three sides, this beach also offers views of the mangrove forest and Mount Dukono in the distance.
