Laporan Tahunan 2017

DIAN AGISTA (Direktur Eksekutif Burung Indonesia)

“Burung Indonesia was born 15 years ago as a membership-based conservation organization, which focused on protecting and preserving the bird’s diversity in Indonesia. Considerable efforts from all corners of Indonesia—from Sumatera in the west, Halmahera in the east, Talaud in the north and Sumba in the south—have been performed.

Being a habitat for 1769 bird species, 512 species of which are endemic, is Indonesia’s priceless gift. Concurrently, with 160 globally threatened species at its disposal, Indonesia has become a very important country in efforts to preserve bird species from extinction and protect their habitats from damage. This strive will never come to fruition if involving only the governments, non-governmental organizations and a few practitioners. Efforts to conserve biodiversity must be integrated in the everyday life of society at large.

Starting 21 July 2017, the Membership Program has been opened. Through this program, Burung Indonesia brings out an opportunity for the public to actively take part in the efforts to conserve various types of birds and their habitats. It is expected that every element of society contributes to preserving biodiversity in Indonesia. Join to become a member of Burung Indonesia.”
