The organization’s missions are to protect the diversity of Indonesian birds and their habitats, to collaborate with the communities in order to achieve sustainable development, and to develop appreciation, understanding, concern, and love of birds and environment.

Burung Indonesia Membership

Indonesia is a home for 1818 bird species, ranks as the fourth country in the world with highest bird species.

Burung Indonesia is providing a medium for the community to channel aspirations and practical conservation to preserve birds, habitats and biodiversity in Indonesia.

We are inviting you to be a part of effort and action in conserving birds and their habitats in Indonesia by joining the Birdlife Indonesia Association Membership.

Periodic Activities

Asian Waterbird Census (AWC)

The Asian Waterbird Census (AWC) is an integral part of the International Waterbird Census (IWC), a waterbird global monitoring programme which coordinated by Wetlands International. Both members of association and public can participate in this activity, observing on site and taking part in preserving waterbirds and their habitats.

Celebrating Bird Diversity in Indonesia

Every year, Burung Indonesia invites members of association and the public to celebrate the bird diversity in Indonesia in various activities, such as birdwatching, wildlife photography, public discussion, and environmental clean-up actions.

Nature Trip

Nature trip is a program dedicated for members of the association to visit locations which hold high biodiversity. The trip is meant for members to get a closer look at the natural diverseness while getting closer with other members.

Raptor Migratory Watch

Indonesia is one of the important areas for migrating birds, including raptors. It is estimated that around one million raptors traverse the East Asian-Australasian Flyway corridor which spans some 7,000 kilometers. Every year, in the peak of migration season, Burung Indonesia invites members of association and public to join the migratory watch.

Tea Time with Burung Indonesia

Tea Time with Burung Indonesia is a regular discussion event to spread information and knowledge on the conservation efforts, where members of association and public gather in a dialogue with conservation practitioners, academics, communities, and environmental activists.
