On 15 July 2002, seven practitioners and nature conservation enthusiasts declared the establishment of the Birdlife Indonesia Association. Sixteen years later, the association is now Indonesia's leading conservation organization that strives to preserve Indonesia's wild birds and their habitats.
We have achieved many things. However, the conservation is facing bigger challenges, raising the efforts needed to preserve 1771 bird species in Indonesia along with their habitats.
